UPC-E Barcode Introduction
UPC-E, being widely used for tracking trade items in stores, is a linear barcode symbology specified by GS1 specification. It is also named as Universal Product Code version E, UPC-E+2, UPC- E Supplement 2 (Two-digit Add-On), UPC- E +5, UPC-E Supplement 5 (Five-digit Add-On), UCC-12, and GS1-12, with a capacity of 6 digits (the last checksum digit will automatically added by KeepAutomation Barcode for Word).

How to Install UPC-E Barcode Add-In for Word

  1. 1.
    Download "KA.Barcode for Word Trial" and unzip it
  2. 2.
    Close all the Word documents on your computer
  3. 3.
    Run the setup file to install and open a new Word document
  4. 4.
    Click "Install" in the pop-up window "Microsoft Office Customization Installer"
  5. 5.
    Now you will see an "Add-Ins" button appearing in the Word menu bar

UPC-E Barcode Featured Settings in Word
There are two implement forms UPC-E+2 and UPC-E+5 for UPC-E. In UPC-E+2, two digits should be added on the UPC-E barcode symbol, while in UPC-E+5, five digits will be added to the UPC-E symbol. Those two Add-on Symbols were designed to encode information supplementary to that in the main barcode symbol on periodicals, hardback, and paperback books.
