QR Code Data Encoding in Microsoft Excel
Install KA.Barcode for Excel
1.
Download KA.Barcode Add-In for Excel and unzip.
2.
Click KeepAutomation.Barcode.Excel.2007.Addin.msi to install.
3.
Open an Excel document and click "install" in the pop-up "Microsoft Office Customization Installer" window
4.
Now you will see KA.Barcode Add-In in the Excel menu bar add-in tab.
5.
Switch to KA.Barcode Add-In tab, click the button, and a property panel appears on the right side.
QR Code Alphanumeric Data Mode
ASCII data mode support encoding digits 0-9, upper-case letters A - Z, and nine other characters: space, & % * + - / : .
1.
In the barcode type pull down menu, select QRCODE.
2.
Select data mode "AlphaNumeric" in the Data Mode pull-down menu.
3.
Input ASCII data, for example, "QRCODE23", into textbox.
4.
Click Generate button and a QR Code image is successfully created.

QR Code Byte Data Mode
Byte Data Mode for QR Code allows you to encode ISO/IEC 8859-1 at default.
1.
In the barcode type pull down menu, select QRCODE.
2.
In the Data Mode pull-down menu please select data mode "QRtest12"
3.
Input proper data, for example, "QRtest12", into textbox.
4.
Adjust other settings like size if necessary.
5.
Click Generate button and a QR Code image is successfully created.
QR Code Kanji Data Mode
Kanji Data Mode for QR Code allows you to encode Kanji characters in accordance with the Shift JIS system based on JIS X 0208. In this data format, each two-byte character value is compacted to a 13-bit binary codeword.
1.
In the barcode type pull down menu, select QRCODE.
2.
Select data mode "Text" in the Data Mode pull-down menu.
3.
Input proper data into textbox.
4.
Adjust other settings like size if necessary.
5.
Click Generate button and a QR Code image is successfully created.
QR Code Numeric Data Mode
QR Code Numeric Data Mode allows you to encode numeric data 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.
1.
In the barcode type pull down menu, select QRCODE.
2.
Select Numeric in the data mode menu for QR Codes.
3.
Input proper data, for example, "4444", into textbox.
4.
Click Generate button sand a QR Code image is successfully created.
You can always select Auto data mode if you do not know which format to select, then KA.Barcode Add-In for Excel will automatically encode data with proper mode according to your encoding data.
