EAN-13 Barcode Add-In for Excel is a powerful barcode generator plugin which allows you to easily add EAN13, EAN13+2, EAN13+5 images in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. Anyone can use it for barcode creation right away because of its simple operation and user-friendly interface.
EAN-13 Information
EAN-13 is a GS1 standard barcode symbology also known as European Article Number 13, EAN/UCC-13, GS1-13, GTIN-13, with variants EAN-13 Supplement 2 (a two-digit Add-On), EAN-13 Supplement 5(a five-digit add-on).

EAN-13 Valid Data:

  • Numeric digits 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9

EAN-13 Valid Length:

  • EAN-13 barcode can encode 13 digits, including the last checksum digit.

Install EAN-13 Barcode Add-In for Excel

    Download KA.Barcode for Excel and unzip.
  2. 2.
    Click KeepAutomation.Barcode.Excel.2007.Addin.msi to install.
  3. 3.
    Open an Excel document and click "install" in the pop-up "Microsoft Office Customization Installer" window
  4. 4.
    Now you will see KA.Barcode Add-In in the Excel menu bar add-in tab.
  5. 5.
    Switch to KA.Barcode Add-In tab, click the button, and a property panel appears on the right side.

EAN-13 Numeric Data

EAN-13 can encode 13 numeric digits from 0 to9. Users can simply input the 12 digits, because the last checksum digit will be automatically calculated and added in the EAN13 image, according to the algorithm specified in the GS1 standard.

    In the barcode type pull down menu, select EAN 13.
  2. 2.
    Input numeric data, for example, "123455432112", into textbox.
  3. 3.
    Adjust other settings like size if necessary.
  4. 4.
    Click Generate button and an EAN-13 image is created.

EAN-13+2 Numeric Data

Users can also add a two-digit supplement symbol for an EAN-13 barcode to encode extra information. In this case you need to input not only the12-digit primary data, but also the supplement data.

    In the barcode type pull down menu, select EAN 13 +2.
  2. 2.
    Input numeric data, for example, "123455432112", into textbox.
  3. 3.
    In Linear Barcode tab, input 2-digit data in the UCC/EAN supplement data blanket.
  4. 4.
    Click Generate button and an EAN-13 with a two-digit add-on image is created.

EAN-13+5 Numeric Data

If you want to create EAN13 with a 5-digit add-on symbol, you need to input both the12-digit primary data and the supplement data.

    In the barcode type pull down menu, select EAN 13 +5.
  2. 2.
    Input numeric data, for example, "123455432112", into textbox.
  3. 3.
    In Linear Barcode tab, input 5-digit data in the UCC/EAN supplement data blanket.
  4. 4.
    Click Generate button and an EAN-13 with a five-digit add-on image is created.
