Part VI Extending Your ColdFusion MX Applications
Java quick response code scannerwith java
Using Barcode Control SDK for Java Control to generate, create, read, scan barcode image in Java applications.
This code produces the following output:
Qr Barcode barcode library for java
using barcode drawer for java control to generate, create qr barcode image in java applications.

Denso QR Bar Code barcode library for java
Using Barcode scanner for Java Control to read, scan read, scan image in Java applications.
This function would be useful for something such as a shipping estimate, where the number of business days is important rather than the number of calendar days.
Bar Code barcode library on java
using barcode integrating for java control to generate, create barcode image in java applications.
StrLib
Barcode barcode library for java
Using Barcode reader for Java Control to read, scan read, scan image in Java applications.
StrLib contains various functions for transforming or verifying string data. Many functions are in this library, but the two in the following sections seem to be among the most useful.
Display qr code in .net c#
using barcode generation for .net control to generate, create qrcode image in .net applications.
SafeText()
Denso QR Bar Code generation with .net
using aspx.cs page touse quick response code with asp.net web,windows application
Whenever you enable a user to enter HTML into a text area and submit it to your site, you re opening yourself up to a security hole. The user could enter tags such as SCRIPT or OBJECT that could execute potentially harmful code. SafeText gets around that by either escaping all harmful tags or removing them entirely. Say, for example, that you call the following line:
QR-Code generator in .net
using barcode implement for visual studio .net crystal control to generate, create qrcode image in visual studio .net crystal applications.
<cfoutput>#SafeText( This is text with a <SCRIPT> in it. )#</cfoutput>
Control qr-code data on vb
to print qr code and qr-code data, size, image with vb barcode sdk
This code would provide the following output:
3 Of 9 barcode library for java
generate, create code39 none on java projects
This is text with a <SCRIPT> in it.
QR Code JIS X 0510 integrated with java
using barcode implement for java control to generate, create qr code 2d barcode image in java applications.
On the other hand, call the following line (notice the extra parameter after the text):
Bar Code barcode library for java
using java toreceive barcode on asp.net web,windows application
<cfoutput>#SafeText( This is text with a <SCRIPT> in it. , 1)#</cfoutput>
Java upc-e generationfor java
use java universal product code version e development toincoporate upc-e supplement 2 on java
This code would produce the following output:
Qrcode barcode library on .net
generate, create qr bidimensional barcode none with .net projects
This is text with a in it.
GS1 - 12 barcode library with c#
generate, create upc-a supplement 5 none for visual c# projects
Always use SafeText() in accepting HTML input from your users.
Control pdf417 2d barcode image in visual c#
using visual .net toaccess barcode pdf417 for asp.net web,windows application
CreateGUID()
.net Framework Crystal code 128c printingin .net
use vs .net crystal code 128 code set b generator toembed code 128c for .net
ColdFusion has a function named CreateUUID() that returns a large, globally unique number in hexadecimal format that looks as follows:
Control ean13+5 data on office excel
ean-13 supplement 5 data with office excel
557996CB-D263-A64A-95E20541383EC9DF
Data Matrix Barcodes barcode library in vb
using .net toembed datamatrix 2d barcode for asp.net web,windows application
The only problem is that most other systems recognize UUIDs only if they have an extra dash in them, which is what CreateGUID() returns, as follows:
Control code 128 code set a data for vb
ansi/aim code 128 data on visual basic
557996CB-D263-A64A-95E2-0541383EC9DF
Always use CreateGUID() if you re passing one of these identifiers to Microsoft SQL Server or another product that recognizes only valid UUIDs
MathLib
ColdFusion has an impressive set of math and trig functions available, but some things are a royal pain to do, such as rounding a number to a set number of places or finding odd trigonometric ratios. MathLib offers functions to do just about anything connected with math, including functions for statistical analysis and complex numbers.
34 Leveraging Nifty Custom Tags
RoundIt()
RoundIt() rounds a number to a specified number of decimal places. Call, for example, the following line: <cfoutput>#RoundIt(6.666666666667, 5)#</cfoutput>
This code would give you the following output:
RoundSigFig()
RoundSigFig() rounds a number to a specific number of significant figures. Say, for example, that you call the following: <cfoutput>#RoundSigFig(10.5660, 3)#</cfoutput>
This code would provide the following output:
These functions are mostly used in scientific calculations as a more accurate substitute for gross rounding.
Where to Find ColdFusion Components
ColdFusion Components are the real newbies to the ColdFusion Community. As of the time of this writing, no sites online exclusively distribute ColdFusion Components. That being said, the Macromedia Developer s Exchange does have a few components, but they are mixed in with the custom tags and tend to be difficult to find. Very promising, however, is www.cfczone.org, a sister site to cflib.org. cfczone.org is run by Raymond Camden and Rob Brooks-Bilson and promises to be every bit as good as cflib.org. No components were available at the time of writing, but we ve been assured that excellent components should become available there soon.
Summary
In this chapter, we ve taken you on a tour of the ColdFusion community. We would like to stress, however, that this is just a tour, and by no means does this chapter cover the full breadth and depth of what the community has to offer. You can find many sites beyond those listed here, but so many are out there that we would need a much bigger book to mention them all. The best resource that you re likely ever to find is a ColdFusion User Group near you. You can find a list of these on Macromedia s Web site at www.macromedia.com/usergroups/, or you can search for ColdFusion User Group online. User groups are located in most of the 50 states, and quite a few are overseas as well. The user groups are great places to network, learn a little ColdFusion, and learn about your fellow developers. The user-group sites also tend to distribute excellent code relating to recent meetings.
