complete. Click Restart. All migrated settings may not be available until you restart the PC.
Undo Restored DNA
During a restore, an Undo DNA le is automatically created on the desktop. This le may be used to undo the settings and data applied during the restore and return the PC back to the pre-restore state.

To undo the restore, simply double-click the Undo le on the desktop, as shown in Figure 6-6.

UPDATING YOUR SOFTWARE
o ensure you get the most out of CA Desktop DNA Migrator, you should keep the software up to date with any xes or new features, which may include the migration and backup support of more system and application settings. Therefore, you should check for updates once in a while as described in this chapter.
Using the Start Menu
You can quickly check for updates by using the Start menu shortcut:
1. Open the Web Update utility, which can be
accessed by browsing to the following path on your Start menu: Programs (or All Programs) CA CA Desktop DNA Migrator
2. Then click Web Update, as shown in
Figure 7-1.

The Web Update utility should load.
Note
If you are using rewall protection, you may receive an alert informing you that the Web Update application is trying to access the Internet, as Figure 7-2 shows when using CA Personal Firewall. If you receive an alert similar to this or if the utility isn t able to access the Internet, make sure you authorize the application to go through the rewall.
If the CA Desktop DNA Migrator software is currently open, you ll receive a status message such as shown in Figure 7-2, and you need to close the software in order to continue.

7: Updating Your Software
3. Once the status says Ready to Update, as shown in Figure
7-3, you can click Update to begin.

The WebUpdate Automatic Updater window, such as shown in Figure 7-4, should appear and begin to check for updates and install any new ones.

If there aren t any new updates available, you ll receive a pop-up message such as shown in Figure 7-5.

Using the Software
You can also access the update utility within the CA Desktop DNA Migrator software:
1. Open CA Desktop DNA Migrator, which can be accessed
by browsing to the following path on your Start menu: Programs (or All Programs) CA CA Desktop DNA Migrator Then click CA Desktop DNA Migrator, as shown in Figure 7-6.

2. Under the Actions toolbar menu click Web Update, as
Figure 7-7 shows.
